Internship program

 
The internship program was developed to provide a world-class opportunity for science students or dedicated consevationists to assist with marine research and conservation. The internship is a great opportunity to engage in real world research, improve marine science skills and meaningfully contribute to our projects and research. Interns will get experience in all of our projects and experience the challenges and the pleasures of working in the most beautiful, wild and remote coastline of southern Mozambique.

Interns roles include (but are not restricted to) collecting underwater and on-land data, transferring data to  the database, assisting in the education projects, raising funding, organizing and participating in events for environmental protection, etc.

Our laboratory will receive a maximum of four interns per month. The internship cost is U$2,600.00. This fee is used to cover your own expenses in Zavora and help toward part of our research running costs. Like that, we can also provide opportunity for disadvantage national students to engage in conservation and science projects in Zavora. Hopefully these national students will in the short-future have a strong voice in the Government to ensure raise marine conservation in the country.

The price includes:
- Up to 25 dives per month including gear
-Transfer from Inhambane to Zavora on the 1st of each month 
- One month accommodation 
- 5000Met allowance for food
-Optional six traditional meals per week  
(2000Met/month- discounted from your food allowance)
-Research assistance
 
NOTE: The projects demands  significant scientific and practical responsibilities from participants. 

Our internship does not include:

- Flights and transports from country of origin to Mozambique
- Transfers that are not on the 1st of each month.
- Internet
- Visa Expenses
- Drinks and meals at the Zavora Lodge Restaurant
-Any course

Traveling to Zavora for my short stay was one of the best choices of my life. I just learned so much in such a short time from so many people. The work is interesting and absolutely necessary for this area. A journey to Zavora will yield great friendships, experience, eternal knowledge, and a load of good times.
