School Project

The love for nature starts when we are children. Awareness of environmental issues is the first step to engage people to conserve nature. We regularly work with the local school to teach children about the ocean, nature and protection. Activities using music, theatre, drawing, footage, field excursions and games are done weekly with a class during a 2-3 months period. Each class has an average of 50 kids and all are very enthusiastic and participative in the project. All activities are filmed and edited footage is shown for the kids and friends at the end of each period. In this way, the message can be spread from the kids to others by what we named “EcoCineMar”.

On special days, we work with 2-3 classes to show them videos. The community where we live is quite remote, there is no electricity and people are still living a very basic lifestyle. The project is fascinating children and adults.

Apart from these projects, on commemorative days we also do additional activities such as beach cleanup, essay competitions and ocean safaris for local kids.
